The TZero Team

We are a veteran-owned small business based in Northern Virginia with additional personnel in the Cape Canaveral, FL and other areas around the country.

TZero personnel have significant experience with the DoD, IC, civil, and commercial space markets and have a particular emphasis on the small satellite and launch markets. Most personnel have active SCI clearances.

We have a unique combination of business, technical, and government experience that provides valuable insights and direction to our customers to support both the business development and satellite launch areas of expertise.

Hans Carlson

President & CEO

Hans has over 25 years of experience in the space market, served seven years in the US Air Force in the space community, and has consulted for over 45 clients in various BD capacities. He has led launch efforts from every US launch site, France, India, Japan, and Russia. He has a strong background in the DoD and IC markets and currently works in both communities.

Tom Hunsaker

Vice President

Tom has 25 years of experience in the defense and commercial space market serving as an active duty and currently as a reservist officer. He has very strong organizational and strategic planning skills. He led multiple successful BD and capture efforts and has led and assisted with launch campaigns in the US, Europe, and Russia.

Scott Dow

Launch Expert

Scott has over 30 years’ experience in the commercial and defense space markets with extensive technical background in structures, testing, launch integration, and ground support hardware. He has supported launch operations at multiple US launch facilities and has experience with range safety and other technical documentation, interface and separation testing, and launch facilities.

Rusty Marin

Business Development Expert

Rusty Marin has over 40 years experience in all areas of the space defense and intelligence market including SMC, NRO, DARPA, and many others. He has an extensive business development in strategic planning, capture, proposals, and customer advocacy, and engages consistently with industry and government seniors around the industry.
